To have fun and enjoy all aspects of model railways

Firstly, many thanks to the Border Railway Society for allowing me to advertise here within their site.

Here at 'Dirty Dogs' I know the real meaning of Getting Dirty! Just like you I am a keen railway modeller, and away from my regular job as an officer of the law I like to help people recreate the look of real life railway traction and rolling stock.

Yes everything comes out of the box all nice and new, but ask yourself a question ‘are things like this in real life?’ I am sure you will answer ‘No!’ Somewhere along the tracks thing just manage to get mucked up, Smoke, rain and mud ect' can all add to the appearance and to the look of things. Making things individual is something that I like to take seriously.

So why not let me do the Dirty for you?

Below are some examples of my work, each picture is viewable so just click the thumbnail to enlarge it.

I will tackle anything even the larger O gauge stuff. Everything from locomotives to rolling stock.

Every item is bespoke so no two will ever be the same, from a light dusting to heavy mucking I can do it all. just email me and ask for a price.

Please state the following: Type of item - Amount of weathering - and if possible please enclose a picture of the type of weathering that you would like. I will also renumber locomotives for you if you require for a small fee. Please note that I do this for the love of doing it and do not make a huge profit from this like others may, any charge just reflects in the time and materials used and on average  I charge per loco the following prices

£20 for light weathering & £26 for heavy weathering for HO/OO

Wagons £5 with bulk discount for rakes.

Plus the cost of sending the item by registered mail which is around £5.

For larger items there will of course be an increase in the price of weathering, please email me to get a quote.

Thank you for looking, I look forward to Getting Dirty with you soon.

Postage: When posting any items to me you should note that I will not be responsible for any items that get damaged or lost in the post! I therefore recommend that you send all items by registered post, and mark with the words 'FRAGILE' or 'HANDLE WITH CARE'

Likewise when I return items to you after work has been completed I will always return by registered post, this will reflect in my costs but it is the best and most trusted method.
